I used Ecofeminism as a framework for this multi-theoretical inquiry into biocentric equality. This 30-page paper deconstructs the global, anthropocentric concept of nature, where nature is portrayed as something separate from our human nature and the self. This human nature dichotomy disrupts the ideology of the interconnectedness of all life and puts forth unrealistic expectations of what is natural. I explore how the macro idea of external nature developed through capitalistic advancements affects the micro, the individual, and the collective living world by examining the structures, concepts, and systems that perpetuate a human/nature dichotomy, such as the history behind private property, language, waste and more.
